Production

Complex production of wheels
Under the order, under any parameters
Design
  • Design

At this phase, we begin to implement the idea of the future wheel. We adapt the design outline to the technical characteristics of the car. Our technologies allow us to produce wheels with extreme designs and parameters without losing style and safety.

We combine the versatility and creativity of design ideas with ubiquitous technological development and constant contact with the client. This approach allows you to not only guarantee the exclusivity of the design and reliability but also in the production process to make sure that the customer will receive exactly the wheels that he imagined.

  • Designing

Creating a wheel layout begins with analyzing the parameters of the car and fixing the maximum values allowed during production. Thus, you can be sure that the SKILL wheels can not only decorate the car but also improve the suspension characteristics.

At this stage, a complete finite element analysis (FEA) is performed, taking into account curb weight, dynamic cornering fatigue, dynamic radial fatigue, and simulated impact tests in accordance with SAE, JWL, and VIA standards. After verification by our engineers, the final wheel model is sent to the customer for approval and programming for milling on the machines.

  • Engineering

To guarantee the highest possible quality, strength, and durability of the wheels, we use the latest developments in the field of computer-aided design and testing. Detailed visualization, where you can see the distribution of stresses and displacements of the wheel, allows you to improve and optimize the layouts before production begins.

We never compromise on quality, each of our projects meets the strict tests of the industry-recognized JWL standard. To detect even the most minor defects, our wheels are placed under pressure in a specially designed water tank and scanned for hidden defects using X-rays. All these processes ensure that we provide our customers with the highest quality products.

Designing
  • Alloy

For the production of forgedwheels, an aluminum-based alloy 6061-T6 with alloying additives of magnesium, copper, silicon, zinc, and other metals is used. It is this alloy that is used in the manufacture of parts in the aviation industry. After the workpieces are forged, they are subjected to repeated heat treatment.

  • Press

To achieve the maximum degree of material density and weight reduction, our workpieces are further improved in the complex forging process. The heated billet goes through the forging process in two stages: at a pressure of 8000 and 10000 tons. As a result of these processes, the optimal structure of the metal is achieved. The wheel elements can now be less thick, and therefore the wheel can be significantly lighter.

  • Provision

Each blank goes through several pressing operations, after which it forms a solid wheel rim without spokes and holes.

Our blanks guarantee the highest quality, durability, reliability and are an excellent basis for the future of the wheel, meeting the highest standards of TUV and AS9100-C.

Engineering
  • Heat treatment

Heat treatment significantly increases the strength of the wheel. As a result, the wheels are ideal for powerful sports cars and cars with increased curb weight.

  • Pretreatment

Next, the forged raw billet is placed in a lathe, on which the top layer of metal is removed. Once the perfect profile is achieved, the wheel is transferred to the CNC machine.

  • Milling

The workpiece is sent to the CNC milling machine, where the face design and mounting holes are milled. The work lasts about 12 hours. All metal that is not related to the stability of the wheel is removed. We use the highest quality machines available in the industry today, and we can achieve extremely tight tolerances, eliminating surface defects.

Quality control
  • Quality control

All of our wheels exceed SAE-J2530 fatigue, rolling resistance, and CASS corrosion testing standards.

Each forged SKILL wheel is physically tested in accordance with SAE and TUV standards. Balance and measuring the roundness of the wheel are the most important stages of the test.  When developing wheels, we use multi-stage control at all stages of design and production to meet the requirements of quality and safety.

  • Manual processing

Before the painting stage, each wheel is inspected and prepared manually. The brushed and polished wheels are further hand-crafted to create a unique custom look.

  • Coloring

At this phase, the wheels acquire their ultimate appearance and begin to fully correspond to the client's views.

Our team uses liquid and polymer coatings to achieve a special, and often unique, the appearance of forged wheels. We are always in the process of inventing and researching new colors or their combinations and the combinations to offer our customers something really unique.
